The Director of the United States Central Intelligence Agency (us) or the CIA, Gina Haspel, is reported to have been listening to the audio recording of the interrogation and killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Saudi Arabia. The recording was heard Haspel while visiting Turkey earlier this week.
“Haspel, who traveled to a secret trip to Turkey on Monday (22/10) local time, have been listening to (recording) audio it in his visit, according to people familiar with the conferences.
“A person familiar with the (recording) audio tape it said was ‘ convinced ‘ and can provide greater pressure on the United States to hold accountable for the death of Khashoggi, Saudi Arabia ” Turkey authorities also have split video recordings related to the murder of Khashoggi Haspel.
There has been no response from the authorities of Turkey or u.s. authorities also linked the CIA report. The visits undertaken to Turkey Haspel also not confirmed by the CIA.
Earlier, a number of sources, quoted Reuters, calling the visit was meant to discuss and assist the investigation of the case of Khashoggi which are still carried out by the authorities of Turkey. While the four different sources quoted Reuters mentions that Haspel also intends to hear direct recording of the purported evidence that Khashoggi’s case.
Kashoggi (60), senior journalist and columnist for The Washington Post, known to the U.S. after living in exile from Saudi. He is known for frequently criticizing the Saudi policies, also criticized Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).
At the end of last week, the Saudi authorities finally admitted the Khashoggi died in fights in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, after repeatedly denied. But the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his speech believes Khashoggi died in the murder plan and vile.
Turkey officials previously claimed to have had evidence in the form of audio and video recordings that prove Khashoggi was tortured and murdered, even mutilated. Proclamation reserved evidence that much-discussed recording media. But Turkey has yet to share evidence of it to other countries, including the U.S. and its allies.
